SILVA FEATURED IN ATLETICO DRAW

Real Sociedad playmaker David Silva was featured as his team could only play out a 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid at home in the Spanish La Liga. David Silva and his Real Sociedad teammates had to come from behind to win a point from the game.

David Silva has been a regular in the Real Sociedad starting XI since he moved to the club three years ago. The Spaniard spent around a decade at Manchester City before he joined Real Sociedad at the end of his last contract with the English team.

For the Atletico Madrid game on Saturday, David Silva was named in the starting line-up. He could not do much about the opening goal of the game from compatriot Alvaro Morata. It took just five minutes for Morata to give Atletico Madrid the lead and he was on the way to ending the game as the recipient of the winning goal before new signing Umar Sadiq levelled proceedings for hosts Real Sociedad on the occasion of his first game for the club.
Nigerian striker Sadiq came on as a substitute at the start of the second half and it took him just ten minutes to make his mark on his debut for the Basque club. He had moved from fellow La Liga side Almeria before the transfer window came to an end this summer. Sadiqhad scored twice in three league games for newly promoted team Almeria in La Liga before his transfer to Real Sociedad to replace Swedish star Alexander Isak who left the club to join Premier League moneybags Newcastle United.
With his goal against Atletico Madrid, Sadiq made it three goals in four league games this season. The point from the aforementioned game took Real Sociedad’s tally to seven points from four games. Atletico Madrid also have seven points from four games.
