SILVA FEATURED IN LA LIGA OPENER

Veteran Real Sociedad midfielder David Silva was in the starting lineup for his team in their La Liga opener last weekend. David Silva was featured from the start as Real Sociedad began the new season on a winning note. Japan international Tafekusa Kubo scored the only goal of the game to give Real Sociedad a 1-0 victory at Cadiz.

David Silva is in his third season at Real Sociedad after he joined the Spanish La Liga outfit in 2020. The Spaniard signed for Real Sociedad as a free agent after his contract at Premier League side Manchester City came to an end.
For the first game of the new Spanish La Liga season, Japanese attacker Kubo scored the only goal of the game on 24 minutes to ensure that Real Sociedad began the new campaign with a win.

He made way for Frenchman Mohamed-Ali Cho with twelve minutes left on the clock. The Japan international left the pitch as the recipient of the lone goal of the game and that was how it was until the end of the game. Just like what was obtainable with the aforementioned Kubo, David Silva also made way with twelve minutes remaining on the clock. Silva was replaced by fellow Spanish midfielder AnderBarrenetxea.
Silva and Kubo would be hoping to maintain their respective places in the Real Sociedad starting XI when they take on Barcelona this weekend. Real Sociedad will play hosts to the Catalan giants on Sunday with the hope of making it two wins from two games at the start of the new season. It would be their first league game at home this season. On their part, Barcelona are looking for their first win of the new league season after their opening match ended in a goalless draw with Rayo Vallecano.
