Former Premier League player David Silva was part to his best in the colours of Real Sociedad at the weekend after he provided two assists to propel his team to a big win over Alaves. David Silva and Real Sociedad were back in form after the disappointing defeat to Manchester United in the Europa League last week. Real Sociedad were expected to provide the Red Devils with a stern test but they were far away from that level as Manchester United easily swept them away. Manchester United ran out 4-0 winners away from home in what was the first leg of their last 32 tie in the Europa League to render the second leg almost inconsequential. Bruno Fernandes was the star of the show as he scored twice for the Premier League club in addition to goals from Marcus Rashford and Daniel James. Manchester United fans would have enjoyed that victory at the expense of David Silva due to his Manchester City roots. David Silva spent a decade at Manchester City before leaving the club on a free transfer last summer. He won several titles at Manchester City, including four Premier League titles.
