SILVA BACKS MATA

Manchester city star David Silva has claimed that his international teammate Juan Mata has not been used in the best possible way at Manchester United. Silva has been one of the best players in the Premier league since his £ 24 million move from Valencia in 2010.

However, Mata threatened to spoil his domination by brilliantly announcing himself in the last two years at Chelsea. The arrival of manager Jose Mourinho had been difficult for the 25-year-old, who decide to make a move to United in order to get regular first-team football.

At £ 37.1 million, he became the record signing for United. He was expected to finally get to the club out of trouble, which they have been suffering from since the arrival of David Moyes. The Scot, however, has been utilising the former Chelsea man in a different position. He has been played on the wings more often than not. The presence of Wayne Rooney just in behind the striker makes it difficult for Moyes to use two players at once. Silva has criticised United – ahead of the meeting between the two clubs next weekend – that they have not been able to get the best out of Mata.

He has also revealed that he has been in conversation Mata and trying to help him get settled to life in Manchester.
"It is a difficult situation for him because the team is not playing that well. They have not managed to bring out the best out in him but he is a very talented player and he will show it. He wasn't getting the minutes at Chelsea so it was a good move for him to go to United. I have been out to dinner with him and his family and we are friends. Anything he needs, he knows he can come to me for. Maybe after the game we can have a meal; it depends," said Silva.
