Lazio starlet Luka Romero has drawn comparison with both David Silva and Lionel Messi. Romero was seen as one of the best young prospects in the Spanish league before he was snapped up by the Italian Serie A capital club.
Italian capital club Lazio are known to be conservative amongst the top teams in the Serie A. Lazio have turned to cost-effective deals in the past years due to the high success rate attached to them.

Important players at Lazio such as Lucas Leiva, Francesco Acerbi, Ciro Immobile and Luis Alberto signed for the club via low transfer fees. The aforementioned players went on to produce better output than their transfer fee.

Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has been praised for low risk, high reward transfers over the past years. Tare and Lazio have made another signing with teenage sensation Luka Romero. The Italians paid just a training premium for the hot prospect.

Romero, who has drawn similarities with Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi and Real Sociedad star David Silva, joined Lazio from Spanish team Real Mallorca earlier this month.

The impressive transfer swoop for Luka Romero has added to the growing reputation of Tare as one of the most effective sporting directors in European football. The transfer is remarkable considering that Lazio had the oldest team in the Italian top flight in addition to the reserve team suffering relegation last season. Lazio have struggled to produce young talents through to the first team in recent years and Romero could be the start of good things in that aspect.

In June 2020, Real Mallorca assistant coach Dani Pendintold media outlet EstudioEstadio that young Romero reminds him of David Silva and that he's quick, competitive and left-footed. He has also drawn comparison with Messi due to his size and background.
