SILVA RESPECTS MAN UNITED

Manchester City midfielder David Silva has said that Manchester United will be the main opponents for their title challenge this season. Manchester City have a two-point advantage over Manchester United, and have crucially proved that they can remain at the top of the table on Christmas Day.

This has been the first time since 1929 that they have remained top of the table for Christmas, and there have been predictions that there would not be any challenge from other teams in their title hunt. However, Manchester City midfielder David Silva has said that Manchester United will be a force to reckon with in the second half of the season and they should not be taken lightly.

Manchester United are historically performed well in the second half of the season, but they seem to be doing well in the initial stages itself given that they are only two points behind Manchester City.

They remain a crucial 10 points ahead of Chelsea, although they have played a game more. Hence, they are regarded as one of the crucial opponents Manchester City should look out for according to David Silva. The Spanish midfielder has been one of the best players for Manchester City and also in the Premier League this season.

'We know they are going to be right behind us so we have to make sure there are no slip-ups and try to win every game. We have to keep playing at the same level as we have been. To keep the gap as it is we have to keep winning our games,' David Silva said after the 3-0 win over Stoke city. Manchester City will be facing a number of crucial fixtures during the January period, and this could determine the destination of the title in the end.
