CONTRACT TALKS CONTINUE

Manchester City midfielder David Silva has said that he is not worried about the lack of contract talks between him and the club, which was scheduled to take place during the months of April and May.

David Silva has been one of the star performers for Manchester City this season, although his form has dipped alarmingly of late.

Many have attributed to his loss of form to the huge number of games he has been part of season, but the Spanish midfielder has conceded that it is quite normal for a player's form to dip over the course of a season.

He also said that he is certainly not worried about the lack of progress being made in the contract department. It was very much expected that his new contract will make him amongst the high earners at Manchester City, but talks are yet to begin.

One of the main reasons for City to challenge United at the top of the table has been Silva, while he has also been the reason for City's title challenge to whither of late. However, the Spanish midfielder has said that he will try his level best to help City win the title this season. The latest premier league betting has made United firm favourites, but in football anything can happen.

"I know City want to speak to my agents at the end of the season for a new contract, but I am relaxed. I have two years still left and I am happy here. I have progressed as a player since leaving Valencia and I am fighting to win titles. That was my aim when I left La Liga. I am not performing as well as I was in the first part of the season, but that's normal," said the former Valencia midfielder, who acknowledges that he has progressed a lot as a player since joining City.
