BARRY LOVES PLAYING WITH SILVA
Manchester city midfielder Gareth Barry has said that he is extremely delighted to play alongside a player like David Silva. The Spanish midfielder arrived from Valencia in the £ 26 million deal a few seasons ago.
He was initially expected to struggle in the Premier league due to the physical nature of the league in general, but he has been one of the best players in the last few seasons for both Manchester city and indeed amongst the Premier league players. He is said to be rewarded for his excellent performances with a new contract.
This would make David Silva one of the highest-paid players in the country, as he is expected to sign a new contract worth around £ 250,000 per week. The former Aston Villa midfielder Gareth Barry has said that his task within the team is made much more easier due to the presence of a player like David Silva. He has praised the versatility and the vision of the Spaniard. He has said that he hopes David Silva will sign the new deal with the club amidst interest from the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid. Manchester city have successfully kept the player at the club through the summer transfer window.
"Last year was fantastic and when you play alongside people like David Silva you get to know his game and where he likes to receive the ball. Playing with players like that can make your job so much easier, so you can bounce off other players sometimes and it can be good for you and them. I don't know that much about Javi just yet but I have done a bit of individual training with him. He seems like a really good player and I'm sure he'll adapt to the English game quickly," said Gareth Barry.
